In the dark of the night
Noise is cluttering the late night air
This place seems so content on where it stands
Don't understand this place in time
So hard to keep a bright outlook
Trying to see things in a different shade of light
Letting go of the old way of thinking
Holding on to the dreams that shape the day
Just knowing a better place awaits
Is enough comfort to keep one going

When I look into those pretty eyes
And you turn your adorable beautiful face away
Oh how that makes me never wanna let you go
So remember when the summer sun takes you away
Ask if you can bring a friend along
Sometimes when you hold my hand I feel like
A little boy sharing my last little candy heart with you
Everyday I'm happy to wake up knowing you're in my life
But at the end of the day this little lost puppy
Is wondering if he found a home inside your precious heart

Searchin'  for that gem among rocks
Beneath the street light glow
An under cover feeling unraveling
Is this the place where love gets lost?

A traffic jam rescue in need of
Teary-eyed window stains hit the soul
Take it away it wasn't meant for me to have
Right on coarse for a mid-afternoon let down

Caught in a blender spin around
An after thought of love where did it go
No fake feeling here to stay
I was the candle that gave you hope to be

A smile I found a way to chase away
Dance inside my heart  I wish you would
A happy day not meant for today
A perfect giveaway I don't know how

Inflicted by a grocery store flower pedal
It was all for you no matter what you say
In an open field lay down, it went away
A die for you, I know I would

A messed up deck of cards meltdown
In the shadows a soul, wish I could save
In my heart I wish you would stay
