Passing Time
(10-30-09)
Standing outside
watching the wet snow slip down the window
much too young to carry on like this
drive out the cold
and shake off the wrinkles running down my face
Under a future light I can't see
down my veins and out the body
Gentle into the night may I one day go
Aging like the snow dieing on the sidewalk
hungry for a love I won't accept
With long narrow feelings
and cold wet nights
It's not too late to feel the daylight whiten the skin
And render a gleam from my eyes as they turn from gray to
blue
With a youthful thought of happiness and pleasure
In the quiet coves of the heart
Roars of endless possibilities
Still rising up inside the mind and body
