Pompton Lakes formed in 2011 and released their debut album "Rest" at
the end of 2012. Somehow I just recently stumbled across them. From the
opening few seconds of "Home" it was apparent to me that this was going
to be an inspiring song and just maybe the rest of the songs would follow
suit. Well, the boys of Pompton Lakes have managed to produce a debut
album of real emotional depth. The production is smooth and spacious,
leaving plenty of room for the listener to absorb the melodic themes that
move throughout. Every song flows almost perfectly into the next. The
downside to that being that some of the songs lack distinction.

"Pride" is probably the standout track. A great worshipful composition
about letting go of pride and moving closer to God. "Searching" is
another favorite of mine. The arrangements are a little more complex on
this one. It carries on the uplifting feel that is found all over the disc.

The album may not be entirely unique, but it is definitely a great piece
of work. All the subtle attention to mood hangs around. Making "Rest" an
excellent album to put on when relaxing or meditating on the word of God.
I'm looking forward to what the future holds for this fine band.
