Album Review

Let me get you up to date on Andrew Osenga's music career. Once upon
a time he fronted a band called The Normals. They released three
pretty darn good albums. And now he is still a current member of
Caedmon's Call. And along the way he has managed to release three
solo albums. For those of you that are familiar with him, know that
he is a very talented musician.

Andrew is one of those song writers that feels most at home when he
is story telling. And that is the overall strength of "The Morning"
I have to admit I was a little surprised by how much more rockin'
this cd was compared to past efforts. Like "After the Garden" it
really struts along with it's big production and overall upbeat tempo.
On the number "White Dove," Andrew really showcases his intelligent
song writing. With great melody accompanied with good lyrically writing.

there is nothing to be afraid of here
if we stand or if we fall
there is no fear in love
there is no fear in love at all

"Dance Away the City" is one of the best songs on the album, in my
opinion. It's lyrically challenging, and even more spiritually so. It's
a pop styled love song for newlyweds about overcoming the many trials
of marriage. Andrew closes things out with the very easy going intimate
"Early in the Morning." Another one of his great stories. It's about
Andrew's day to day family life. It's hard not to notice the beautiful
message, he is trying to get across to the listener. A message on how
we all take the little things in life for granted. what a simple yet
very powerful message. Especially in how he so effortlessly paint's it
out for us.

This is a superb record that will please his dedicated fans. But also very
appealing to those that may be ashamed for not being a fan of Andrew's
from the very beginning. This is a great album to start your soon to be
obsession of tracking down all recordings that lead back to the very
undervalued super talented Andrew Osenga.
