Album Review
What do we expect of Luxury in 2005? The correct answer would be good music. They
never disappoint. Health and Sport is no exception. It's been a very long wait for
this new album. I personally never thought we would hear from them again. It's a
good thing I was wrong.

"Shake More Hands, Give More Hugs" is a fittingly grand opening. It is a 10 minute
epic. Filled with layers upon layers of strange sounds. Luxury sound better as a
band than they have in years. It only takes a few listens to recognize that
"Health and Sport" is something to behold. It's a shame that this could be their
final album. One can only hope that they have a closet full of gems waiting to see
the light of day.

"He Watches Over Thee" is a strange slow piano based song. With lyrics like
"So as you read the bible in New York to your kids, or as you drive
the damaged to the movies, then back to bed"
that make you think wow why can't
more of the mainstream bands out there be like Luxury. A thinking man's band
seems to be so very lost on the mass population, it's such a shame so much good
music goes unnoticed year after year.

Finally, we come to ''Biography and Autobiography'' and 'Diary Standard''
equal anything the band has done. The lush arrangements on "Diary Standard"
are mind blowing. This is one of those songs I could listen to over and over
So, in musical terms, some things have changed and some remain the same.
The result is a rather fine, creatively mature album. Something we have come
to expect from these guys. Lets hope this doesn't spell the end for them after
all.
