Album Review

Out of the Ashes of the 90's rock band Driver Eight, many years later arose                                Theft, fronted by Matt McCartie. They have released an ep and two full lengths.                               "The Hard Way" being the latest effort. All of their albums are quite good. They                                      should have a much bigger following. I'm hoping their self-belief will someday pay off.

A lot of albums are fine for playing in the background to create an atmosphere.                                   This one is much more than that. It's evident from the opening guitar lick on the first                            song "Never Be The Same." This is one of those songs penned to fill stadiums. This
is one of those albums you listen with the purpose of wanting to feel something. You                            Can't help but feel alive when listening to "Fire Works Explode." It's an exciting high                      energy song. "Come Down" has a bit of an epic feel to it, without coming off as if they                       were trying too hard. It bounces along with a nice smooth rhythm.

After a few listens, it's apparent this cd is a keeper and will be on heavy rotation for a                         very long time. It's easy to over look that some of "The Hard Way" blends together at                            times. It has a pretty straight-forward sound and lyrics, which are easy to catch on to.
I'm hoping on their next outing they take their sound to the next level.
