Album Review
I was shocked when I found out
that Atticus Fault had released another album. It had been right around eight
years since we last heard from them. They had disbanded and I had long since written them off. So of
coarse I was quick to purchase the new album "Bombs Cannot Wake." They
picked up right where they had left off all those years ago.
After the 2 minute instrumental
"The Wakening," the band jumps into the incredibly infectious
"Crash." Which just might be
the best song on the entire album? The next song "See the Sound" sort of reminds me
of The Doves. It's one of the fastest songs on the disc and another highlight.
These guys just have an uncanny knack for writing good hooks. It's as if they are
incapable of writing a bad song. Sure the cd does lose a little steam towards the end. And as
usual I’m always left wishing they would have been a little more
experimental. But none the less they have managed to produce another very
good record. Fans will absolutely love the personal and intimate feel of the
record. It's a shame these guys continue to float under the radar. I hope
they continue to record for a long time. If you end up picking this one up,
I think you agree with me that this one was built to last the test of time.
