Gabriel Wilson was quoted saying "...this was the most difficult album that
I've ever made..."That statement there should be enough to know that this
disc is full of emotion and intimacy. If your not familiar with Gabriel Wilson.
He is the front man for The Listening. They released one of my favorite albums
of last year. This is his first attempt at stepping out on his own.
"Lovely is Death" was recorded in the music room of Wilson's duplex in Astoria,
Oregon. Fans of his earlier work will recognize a lot of what is here on this
outing.

The romantic groove of "G-Thing", the soft acoustic touches in the self-titled
"Lovely is Death" and the nostalgic "burning Like Cigarettes" would all have to
be considered favorites among the few songs offered. I like how well the album
flows from one song to the next.

Ultimately it's a great disc. I will let you know that it does feel like something
is missing. But maybe it's just me. Either way I recommend checking this one out.
It's Heart felt real music without giving off the impression that someone is just
trying to make money. This music is expression from within. It's too bad most music
that plays on the radio has alternative intentions. Throw out your radio and pick
up this little ditty.
